wedding inspiration

a few weeks ago a bunch of fantastic nyc based designers, chefs, bakers, and others got together to create an inspiration wedding shoot. this was such a fun process and i could not love the images that oh darling photography took for us more than i already do.
we are so grateful to grace for featuring a selection of the shoot on design sponge this morning!

below are some of the vendors/shots that are equally as stunning and we couldn't fit in the ds post. enjoy!

first up is the delicious food (i know because we were lucky enough to taste it) cooked up by stuart and welch catering. spring sweet pea risotto, foraged mushrooms, quail egg, and topped with cepes and yellow oyster mushrooms.

next is janelle sing, an incredibly talented emerging designer. i guarantee you will be seeing her creations everywhere one day soon. she handcrafted this clutch for the shoot and hand painted all of the detail!

we were thrilled to have lauren napier on set doing all of the makeup for the models. she is such a pleasure to work with and her talents sure speak for themselves in these gorgeous photos.

amanda, the heart and soul behind untamed petals gave us a huge array of fantastic accessories to choose from. we wish we could have used them all, but everyone on set fell in love with this gorgeous hair flower seen in these photos.

adele wechsler shipped us a few gorgeous dresses from her eco couture line all the way from canada.

how dreamy

to sham or not to sham?
5 bridesmaid kimonos. a marvelous gift.
this little pretty is a chic fitted caftan

i love most things etsy. i love the idea of etsy, who it attracts, the various artists/vendors that participate. overall it's truly a great concept and site. so yet again, introducing a fab etsy vendor that you must know about.
plum pretty sugar features loungewear, bedding and accessories borne from the idea of breezy happiness, cozy comfort and easy-living chic.

steal my heart.

there really is nothing more satisfying than looking at a stunning mood board. i was recently turned onto a blog, a thing for, which basically just churns out gorgeous inspiration board after the next. emily over at oncewed posted about this lovely site last week and she has really found something special. this is my latest and greatest coffee read every morning from now on!

saja in korean means a lion (noun) and to buy (verb)

we were lucky enough to meet the heart and soul behind saja, yoo lee, last friday in her nolita flagship store here in nyc. she founded saja in 2000 and went through a transformation in 2009 emerging with purely bridal, bridesmaid, and special occasion collections. breathtaking wedding and bridesmaid dresses flow from the hangers and line her exposed brick boutique. i've included two of my favorites below, but make sure to take a peek at the rest of her collection. you won't regret it.

nike + bride = comfortable wedding

juliet often finds pleasure in teasing me about my basketball days. at 5 foot 1 inch it is quite amusing that i once played college basketball. when i recently heard about cole haan's new nike air bridal line it made perfect sense to me. trying to walk anywhere in heels to me seems like a trying task and i just cant imagine doing it for hours at my wedding. also, you can really get your boogy on in something this comfortable.

*also make sure to check out their line of nike air flats. great for everyday strolling*

vintage glamour

last night we were lucky enough to be invited by lauren napier to design her booth at the ny mag wedding event. lauren is a super talented make up artist located here in nyc. she is incredibly sweet and would be so fun to work with on your wedding day!
our inspiration for her booth design was vintage glamour meets chic salon.
a big thanks to jen huang for taking photographs for us!
